There are so many horrible ingredients in cigarettes, with each and every one detrimental to the smoker’s health. What is so sad is that most smokers realize what cigarettes are doing to them yet they buy pack after pack, like nothing is wrong! Most of the more than 4,000 ingredients found in cigarettes are deadly. They include ingredients such as lighter fluid, sewer gas, rocket fuel, tobacco, nicotine and many more. Each and every one of those can ruin a life, yet cigarettes are very popular.

The ingredient is what keeps smokers coming back is nicotine, as it is highly addictive. While it acts as a stimulant to the brain initially, in larger doses it is actually a central nervous system depressant. The high or elated feeling that the smoker gets from inhaling the nicotine is what makes them want more, so eventually their brain becomes so accustom to the high, it becomes dependent.

Cigarettes are terrible for the health and not only do they damage the brain, heart, mouth, throat and other vital organs, but they actually decrease the functioning of the lungs. The tar in cigarettes is responsible for turning the lungs black, because of the sticky mass that it leaves behind in the lungs. Combined with the butane, cadmium, and acetone it creates a negative health of all internal organs.

From formaldehyde, which is embalming fluid to toluene which is an industrial solvent and not to mention the arsenic, which is rat poison, cigarettes create a deadly cocktail. Along with the fact that they are so harmful they are greatly frowned upon in society. Some communities have banned them and the taxes and prices have made now a better time to quit than ever. The ingredients found in cigarettes are more than motive enough to quit!

Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 different chemicals, 50 of which are known carcinogens which can cause cancer. You wouldn’t roll up rat poison, acetone, candle wax, and embalming fluid and smoke it on purpose, would you? Most people never even realize that smoking cigarettes exposes them to a long list of nasty ingredients that are inhaled every time they light up and smoke a cigarette!

Cigarettes are popular, however most people never take the time to learn what they are inhaling every time they take a puff. It is not one, or two, but several that alone are potentially fatal in small doses. Along with acetone, a nail polish remover, there is also ammonia which is used in toilet cleaners, but also arsenic which is used in rat poison. Benezene and Butane are types of gasoline and lighter fluid, along with cadmium, which is an active ingredient in batteries. DDT is an insecticide, methane is sewer gas and methanol a fuel used for rockets. Think that’s all, not yet! Hexamine is lighter fluid, formaldehyde is embalming fluid and toluene is an industrial solvent. There are more, however that is just a few to name. Nicotine is actually a bug killer!

Nicotine (one of the most addictive substances on the planet), and carbon monoxide, which is car exhaust! Smoke containing nicotine is inhaled into your lungs, reaching your brain in less than six seconds. Nicotine acts as a stimulant to the brain. In large doses, it’s a depressant that can inhibit the flow of signals between your nerve cells. In even larger quantities it can be a lethal poison that affects a person’s heart and blood vessels. The tar in cigarettes over time forms a sticky mass in your lungs. The more you inhale from a cigarette, the better you begin to feel but in return more damage is done to your lungs.

Learning a little more about cigarettes will help you make the decision to put that nasty killer down. Along with the fact that there are several deadly ingredients, the habit is expensive and dangerous for those around you!

Cigarette smoking in America is a huge problem due to the addicting nature of the habit. The amount of people who smoke seems to be on the rise as the economy has worsened, most likely due to the stressful situations this has put thousands of Americans in. It also appears that the amounts of teens that begin smoking are on the rise due to growing up in homes where their parents have smoked their whole lives.

Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable death and serious illness among Americans. Roughly 400,000 + Americans die from tobacco related illness and accounts for one fifth of all deaths in the US. Tobacco also costs our nation more than $100,000,000,000 each year in medical expenses and lost productivity in the workplace.

It is estimated that there are more than 43 million adults who currently smoke in the United States, Including our president, Barack Obama . Of that 43 million 22% are men and 17% are women. That is really quite astounding even with all of the knowledge know as to the harm that cigarettes can cause. These statistics just go to show how powerful of a hold it has over people.

It’s not too late to quit smoking, even if you’ve been doing it for twenty years. Stopping now can drastically reduce your chances for developing serious health complications. There are proven methods and products available to help so that you don’t have to do it cold turkey anymore. Don’t continue to make yourself a statistic any longer. Do it for yourself or your loved ones!

It is no secret that the effects of cigarette smoking can cause damage to your heart. Your heart is pumping blood to every part of your body and along the way it is picking up wastes. This includes cigarette smoke. It is a common misconception that the biggest killer of cigarette smokers is cancer, but it’s not. It’s heart disease. Smoking and your heart are not compatible companions, making it important to stop smoking, today!

The carbon monoxide contained in tobacco smoke can lead to an inadequate blood supply. This causes the heart to work faster in order to get an adequate supply of oxygen. Smoking also causes your heart rate to increase drastically, which can lead to a sudden heart attack. Smoking increases the buildup of plaque in your arteries (Atherosclerosis) causing a narrowing that restricts blood flow to your heart. Over time, this causes Coronary Artery Disease and even strokes. It increases your blood pressure, which can lead to sudden heart failure.

Each year, in the United States alone, cigarettes are responsible for up to a third of all deaths from heart disease, according to the American Heart Association. Of the approximately 440,000 annual deaths caused by smoking each year, about 180,000 are related to heart disease. That’s pretty scary statistics, and a good reason to put them down, today!

If you didn’t know before now that smoking and your heart don’t mix it’s time you learned the truth. By quitting smoking now, you can spare yourself from all of this and dramatically lower your risk for heart disease. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, however what is guaranteed is that if you continue smoking it will shave precious years off your life!

When taken in high doses, nutmeg can be quite intoxicating, primarily because it is similar in chemical makeup to MDMA (Ecstasy). Smoking nutmeg causes symptoms such as stupor, delirium, and drowsiness. Other symptoms include increased heart rate, dry mouth, and excessive thirst. Agitation, apprehension, and a sense of impending doom may last about 12 hours, with unreality that persists for days.

Nutmeg contains five to fifteen percent Myrista oil, which is responsible for the physical effects felt by the individual. About four percent is Myristicin, which is structurally similar to mescaline. Mace, the exterior covering of the Nutmeg seed, also contains the hallucinogenic compound Myristicin. Elemicin is another potent psychoactive ingredient found in nutmeg. Similar to SSRI antidepressants such as Prozac, Myristicin blocks the release of serotonin from brain neurons. Scientists believe that once the substance enters the body it is converted to methylenedioxymethamphetamine, which is Ecstasy. There is a dosage threshold based on quantity, metabolism, and body weight that causes nutmeg to cease being a spice and enter the realm of being a drug. Like other deliriums, the effects of nutmeg take several hours to peak. Nutmeg is one of the most bizarre psychoactive drugs, because it often takes up to six hours before an individual even begins feeling minimal effects of the drug.

Many prison inmates have known about it and used it for years to get high, which is why most prisons have banned the use of this spice within the prison walls. But, the nutmeg high is not all that pleasant. Like most deliriums, nutmeg’s efficacy at producing a hallucinogenic high is largely in the eye of the beholder.

Because of its efficacy to produce a cheap and legal high, nutmeg is most often used by people who are unable to obtain illicit drugs. So, yes, smoking nutmeg will get you high!

Do you have an unsightly cigarette burn in the headliner of your beloved car? Maybe it was already there when you got the car or maybe a friend put it there for you. Regardless of how it got there or who put it there, you just want it fixed, right? Well, you have several options to choose from. Here they are…

If it is a small area that is affected and the fabric is not completely burned through, you can touch up the area with a permanent marker that is the same color as the interior. It will still be there, but will be much less noticeable to those riding in the car. Another option is to patch it with a piece of fabric taken from a less notable place in your car. Use superglue to cove the burn, after it dries, you won’t even be able to tell that there was a burn there in the first place.

A more drastic approach to take for a really bad burn hole is to replace the whole headliner. This is not as hard as it seem. You can buy everything you need to do this from your local automotive store. It will involve removing the old headliner, replacing the foam underneath and applying a new one. Be sure to fasten the new headliner down tightly so that you don’t have any dips or sways in it. You may also be able to find a patch kit at the automotive store if you don’t feel up to the task replacing the whole headliner.

Hopefully this article will provide some insight on how to fix a cigarette burn on your car’s headliner. People invest a lot of money in their vehicles and spend a lot of time in them as well, so who can blame you for not wanting to look at that unsightly burn all the time.

Did you know that smoking increases your blood pressure? Most people associate cigarette smoking with breathing problems and lung cancer. But, people who smoke are also more likely to develop hypertension. The truth is, heart problems are more common than cancer is when it comes to side effects from smoking. About 30% of all deaths from heart disease in the U.S. are directly related to cigarette smoking. That’s because smoking is a major cause of coronary artery disease especially in younger people.

A person’s risk of heart attack greatly increases with the number of cigarettes he or she smokes and the longer a person smokes, the greater their risk of heart attack. People who smoke a pack of cigarettes a day have more than twice the risk of heart attack than non-smokers. Women who smoke and also take birth control pills increase several times their risk of heart attack, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease.

Smoking tobacco causes blood pressure to rise in several different ways. One way that smoking tobacco raises blood pressure is by causing blood vessels to become narrower. When blood vessels are narrow, the blood flow is constricted and the heart must work more vigorously to pump the blood through the vessels. When the heart works harder, blood pressure increases.

Those who smoke and have developed high blood pressure should make every attempt to quit as it could be extremely detrimental to their health to continue.

When you smoke a cigarette, it doesn’t just evaporate into the air. Every cigarette you smoke leaves behind a residue. This cigarette residue soaks into curtains, walls, clothing, carpeting, and everything surrounding you. Wouldn’t you like to know just what is contained inside this cigarette residue that you are inhaling into your body?

Here are just some of the chemicals contained in the residue that cigarettes leave behind after you have smoked it. Arsenic, also used in rat poisons and has been used to poison people because it causes a slow, painful death when ingested. It also contains Butane, which is an ingredient commonly found in lighter fluid. Would you knowingly drink lighter fluid? Most likely not! Carbon Monoxide, which when taken in high levels can make your blood unable to deliver oxygen properly to all of your vital organs. Lead, a poisonous metal and Toluene, a chemical found in paint thinner.

If that doesn’t make you sick to your stomach, take in this fact. Not only are you exposing yourself to these toxic elements, but you’re also exposing everyone around you. If you smoke in your house and vehicle everyone who enters is exposed. Think about the effect this is having on your children.

Also, this residue is nearly impossible to get rid of and even if you quit smoking inside your home and car you almost have to replace everything to get rid of the toxic effects that are left behind. Not only does smoking ruin health and lives, it ruins everything around you as well.

A proposal has been made to make the Armed Forces smoke free. This Troop Smoking Ban has been drawing serious reactions from the troops, even though the Pentagon states that any ban is a long way off. This fear was triggered by a study done by the Veterans Affairs Department that recommends moving toward a tobacco free military within the next twenty years. U.S. military personnel and veterans interviewed by The Associated Press had strong opinions about life in the military without cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco.

Some military personnel said it would cut medical costs and make the force healthier and eliminating smoking breaks would increase productivity. Others said it would dampen the morale of the soldiers who smoke and reduce recruitment to the all-volunteer military. Nearly all, however, said it was not practical and most likely would not ever happen.

While smoking has declined in the U.S. civilian population, it remains high in the military due to the stressful nature of what a soldier faces on a daily basis. In 2005, a third of the active-duty military smoked compared with a fifth of the adult U.S. population, the Institute of Medicine study said. Tobacco use in the military declined overall from 1980 to 2005, but now seems to be reflecting the effects of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Smoking rates among military personnel returning from both war zones may be 50 percent higher than it is among those who were not deployed, recent studies have shown. A Troop smoking ban is thought to improve overall health and well being for our military.
