1) Publicly announce that you’re quitting smoking . you can do it on Facebook, Linkedin, your Blog, by just telling all your friends, telling your parents / kids / wife / husband . This will increase the level of your commitment to this goal as you’re promising to do this not only to yourself, but also to your loved ones.
2) Quit right now ! it’s never going to be the right timing and the excuses to not quit will never end. just get rid of your pack now and make sure to also throw all your ashtrays and lighters – clean your environment completely.
3) Cigarettes are highly addictive (as you may already know), so it’s not OK to just smoke 1 cigarette ! you have to be completely clean and it’s recommended to also not hangout around smokers in the first 3 weeks. avoid it as much as you can.
4) Try not to Drink alcohol or coffee in the first 2 weeks as those actions are usually associated with smoking for most people.
